Baldemar will be remembered for the time spent with loved ones and the moments that brought joy to those around him. He was predeceased by: his parents, David Cortez and Raquel Cortez. He is survived by: his wife Paula A. Cortez; his children, Noemi Sydlik (Rodney), Baldemar Cortez Jr. (Mari) and David Cortez (Melissa); and his sisters, Beatriz Esquivel (Samuel), Minerva Hernandez (Robert) and Lubina Browning (Clifford). He is also survived by 17 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to South Avenue Baptist Church for the children's ministry.
