Cecil Franklin Hart Obituary

Cecil Franklin Hart was born in Wichita Falls, Texas, on August 7, 1954, and went to glory on August 6, 2026.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Cecil Hart, Sr., and Jolene Hart; his brother, Douglas Hart, and his daughter Melinda Hart. Surviving him are his wife, Jeanne of the home; a son Billy Hart, of Durant, Oklahoma; his sisters, LaDonna Gunnoe, of Durant, Oklahoma; and Debra Johnson, of Mead, Oklahoma; as well as a number of nieces and nephews.

He was a member of Parkside Baptist Church in Denison, Texas.

Cecil was raised in Wichita Falls, Texas, where he attended public schools. In high school, he lettered in three sports—football, baseball and track. He received a baseball scholarship to Texas Tech University but instead chose to "be tough" and join the Marines. During part of his service in the Marines, he was a Drill Sergeant. He was also a sharpshooter. He later served in the Air National Guard as well. In doing so, he traveled to many countries in his service to our country. He retired in the summer of 1995, at about the time he met Jeanne.

In his younger years, Cecil was an avid golfer. So when he and Jeanne moved to Greenville, South Carolina, in 1998, he worked for a time as an apprentice golf pro at an exclusive, scenic golf course on top of a mountain in the upstate of South Carolina. He also worked at various other jobs until he retired.

In 2017, Cecil and Jeanne were retired, and it was time to move back to his home state of Texas to be closer to relatives. Soon they joined Parkside Baptist Church in Denison.

A celebration of life for Mr. Hart will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, August 15, 2026, at Parkside Baptist Church with Pastor Jeff Humphrey officiating.
