Though James may have slipped beyond the veil of mortality, his essence lingers like a faint fragrance in the air, a lingering reminder of the beauty and complexity of the human experience.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Bert Johnson and Bernice Johnson (Fish); and his wife Delores Garmen. He is survived by: his daughters, Kathy Stone (Bobby) of South Carolina, Susan Wells (Sylvester) of Denison and Debra Johnson of South Carolina; and his grandchildren, Austin Stone (Holly), Jennifer Hancock and Kara Chamberlain (Joe). He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren.
