He was predeceased by: his wife Neva Thomas; his parents, Jim Thomas and Johnnie Thomas; and his siblings, J. T., John, William Miles, Dwight, Price, Doug, Baby Girl Thomas, Honor Bell Hagan, Hope Garland and Peggy Richardson.

He is survived by: his son Joe Wayne Thomas of Bedford; and his brother Chesley Thomas of Oklahoma City. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
