He was predeceased by : his parents, Curtis Lee Carter and Maudie Lee Wilson Keller (Carter); his step-father Casper "Cap" Keller; and his brothers, Darvin T. Carter and Billy Joe Carter Leon.
He is survived by : his wife Mary Pryor Carter; his sons, Michael L. (Penny Carter) of Denton and Joseph M. Carter; his grandchildren, Austin M. Carter of Frisco, Tanner J. Carter, Mikayla Harmon of Mt. Prospect, Ellysa Grace English of Denton, Casper J. Carter of Denton and Clayton R. Carter of Saginaw, Texas; his brother Curtis A. Carter (Connie Carter) of Reno, Nevada; and his siblings-in-law, Betty R. Peery of Greenwood, Larry L. Pryor (Trudy) of Moravia, Texas. and Frank Peery. He is also survived by several Nieces and Nephews.
