He was predeceased by: his parents, William "Gus" Cogdell and Dorothy Beatrice Brown Cogdell; his wife Margaret Ann Erwin; his son Jerry Glenn Cogdell; and his siblings, Nancy Ann Henderson and Leon Cogdell (Harold Wayne Cogdell).
He is survived by: his nieces, Cyndee Parrish, Linda Cogdell, Diane Chase and Trisha Henderson; his nephew Michael Cogdell; and his great-niece Avery Leigh Henderson. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, grand nieces, and grand nephews.
