He is survived by: his former wife Nita Mathis; his children, Antoinette Thorp (Kerry), Phillip Jeffery, Terry Jeffery, Stephanie Jeffery, Lisa Almodovar (Eddie), LaTonya Jeffery, Kimiko Colmen and James Mathis (Jay); and his siblings, Earnest Lee Mathis, Jr., Stanley Mathis, Regina Williams, Esteven Mathis and Sharon Mathis-Olulu. He is also survived by grandchildren and great grandchildren.
