He was predeceased by : his parents, August Smith and Nola Smith; and his siblings, Mary Buckley, Leroy Smith and Odell Smith.

He is survived by : his wife Ann Smith; his children, Kathy Smith of Denton, Robbie Smith (Kim) of Coventon and Danny Smith (Karen) of Lewisville; and his sister Patsey Bates. He is also survived by four grandchildren.
