Lloyd Eric Gary Obituary

It is always difficult saying goodbye to someone we love and cherish. Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Lloyd Eric Gary of Denton, Texas, who passed away at the age of 58, on April 4, 2023. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

With social distancing restrictions in place, services will be Saturday, April 15, 2023, at 1:00 P. M. at New Life Tabernacle Church in Brownsville. Masks must be worn in church.

Eric, was born September, 24, 1964 in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois, to Lloyd Gary and Jerlien “Deberry-Gary” Cooper. In 1977, he was blessed to be raised by a Bonus Father, William Mack Cooper. Eric grew up in Decatur, Illinois on the bricked road known as Green Street. Those that grew up on Green Street are forever bonded as “GREEN STREET FOR LIFE”. Eric graduated from MacArthur High School in 1982. Eric left Decatur and moved to Lincoln, Nebraska. He lived in Lincoln, for several years, he became a father and earned his Associates Degree. In March, 2017, he moved from Nebraska to Denton, Texas

Eric loved his family and friends. He loved the Chicago Bears, dancing, his hats, cooking, jewelry, cheese popcorn, family reunions, white t-shirts, playing cards and dominoes, starched ironed clothes, Living Life to the Fullest and an occasional party or two😊.

Eric’s memory will live on through his children – Xavier Gary, Rayshana Miller and Kaleb Miller of Lincoln, NE. His siblings - Demetria Gary-Timmons of Lewisville, TX, Cassandra Gary of Corinth, TX, Tira Cooper-Warren of Denton, TX and Alsey Brandon Cooper of Lewisville, TX. Granddaughter Ahlani of Lincoln, NE.

Eric is “Uncle E” to Evan (Jessica) Gary; Donovan Young; Blazer (Jessica) Powell; DJ Timmons; Blake Timmons; Isaac and Natalie Valdovino, and Zander and Zia Warren. A great nephew and great nieces and a future great niece. Many more uncles, aunts and cousins.

With special acknowledgment to his Uncle Al and Aunt Shirley Rutherford for treating him like their own son. Uncle Dr. Benjamin Cooper and Aunt Gwen Cooper. Cousin Mirian Jones.

Eric was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd Gary; Mother, Jerlien Cooper; Bonus Father William Mack Cooper and son Gabriel Maurice Rollie-Miller.
