He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Carte and Ida Carte (Martin); and his siblings, Charles Carte, Lois Jean Carte Boggs, Reggie Carte and Rose Carte DeMoss.
He is survived by: his children, Melody (Brant Nix), Melissa (Jay Whitfield) and Matt (Erin Hair Carte); and his grandchildren, Erica, Brandon, Zachary, Nathan, Tyler, Brady, Haley, Cason, Alex and Abbey. He is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren.
