He was predeceased by: his parents, Welton F Smith and Virginia B Seaton; and his brother James. He is survived by: his brother Welton Eugene (Christine); his children, Derrick (Amy), Jennifer (Jason) and Nathan Abato (Legia); his grandchildren, Dillon, Sierra, Joshua, Jaydon, Jayla, Hayden and Milan; and his great grandchild Evren. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
