She was predeceased by: her parents, Fred Thomas and Lenabell Thomas (Dean); her husband Elmer Leroy Matthews; her son Mike Matthews; and her brothers, Gordon and Billy Thomas.

She is survived by: her children, Gary Matthews (Danita) of Cross Roads, TX, Daryl Matthews of Cross Roads, TX, Staci Matthews of Cross Roads, TX and Patti Thomas of Grandview, TX; her sister-in-law Veronica Thomas of Cross Roads, TX; and her nephews, Steve Thomas of Cross Roads, TX and Timmy Thomas of San Antonio, TX.. She is also survived by one grandson and four granddaughters; seven great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Saturday, July 19th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Slay Memorial Chapel of Aubrey (400 US-377, Aubrey, TX 76227). A funeral service was held on Saturday, July 19th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, July 19th 2025 at the Belew Cemetery (9500 Belew Rd, Aubrey, TX 76227).
