He was predeceased by: his parents, Malachi Sims and Effie Harris Sims (Norma Jean Ivey); his stepson Rodney Sacapano; and his siblings, Calvin Sims of Iris Sims, A. J, S. M. Sims, J. P. Sims, Irene Thompson, Bula Mae Lacy and Bonnie Faye Talent.
He is survived by: his wife Nestoria Umambong Sacapano (Sims) of DeSoto; his sons, Allen Dale Sims and Ronnie Joe Sims; his stepdaughter Nerissa Hollingsworth; and his grandchildren, Steve, Christina, Scotty, Stacy of Melanie, RJ and Ries. He is also survived by cousins, nieces, nephews and great-grandchildren.
