It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Norman Hicks McCormick of Dickens, Texas, who passed away on July 16, 2023, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Walter Hicks McCormick and Velma Dean McCormick (Hawley). He is survived by : his children, Kevin McCormick of Lubbock, TX, Cheryl Kay of Greenville, TX and Cindy Tarrant (Daniel); and his siblings, Joan Dickinson and Johnny McCormick of Decatur, TX. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter.

Martha Jones Blacklock wrote a sympathy message

“Condolences to the family on your loss. I knew Hicks when we were in high school. We did, in fact, date for a year when I was a freshman at Spur and he was a senior at McAdoo. I always knew him to be a gentleman and a very kind person. I never saw him after he went to Vietnam but have very fond memories of him during the time we were in school. May he rest in peace and may God give you comfort at this time of grieving for him.”
