He was predeceased by: his parents, Lino Luciano Garcia and Cecilia Escalante; his siblings, Anselmo, Isaac, Juan, Alicia, Amparo, Maria of Jesus, Juana, Beatrice, Ezequiel, Paulina, Rosa and Marina; his daughter-in-law Diana Cantu; and his granddaughter Alyssa Nicole Cantu.
He is survived by: his wife Paulina B. Garcia; his children, Charlie Cantu (Peggy) of Jacksonville, Herb Cantu of Grapeland, Texas, Arthur Cantu (Katherine) of League City, Texas, Larry Cantu of Dickinson, Texas, Daniel Garcia Jr. (Melissa) of Dickinson, Texas, Johnny Garcia (Erika) of Dickinson, Texas, Jesus Garcia (Katy) of Richmond, Texas., Jovita Cantu of Friendswood, Texas, Diana Nuñez (Evaristo) of Texas City, Texas and Angelita Jackson (Adrian) of Dickinson, Texas.; his great grandchildren, Abrianna, Kaylee, Luke, Jacob, Isaac of Chelsea, JD, Diana, Emma, Layla, Charlie, Haven, Ellerie, Lila, Henry, Bella and Ethan; his brother-in-law Leonardo E. Longoria of McAllen; his friend Cato Castillo; his stepdaughter Rebecca Massiatte; Paulina. He is also survived by nephews, nieces.
Visitation was held on Sunday, September 13th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Forest Park East Funeral Home (21620 Gulf Fwy, Webster, TX 77598). A prayer was held on Sunday, September 13th 2026 from 6:30 PM to 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the same location. A committal service was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Forest Park East Cemetery (21620 Gulf Fwy, Webster, TX 77598).
