As we bid David farewell, let us not mourn the absence of his physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of his spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For David is not truly gone, but merely transformed, his energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
He is survived by: his parents, Harry George Bickell and Judith Hurst Bickell; his wife Dawn Mathis Bickell; his children, Kris Wernecke (Don), Manuel Landaverde (Stacey) and Jordan Landaverde (Christina); and his siblings, Derek Bickell and Andrea Carroll (Wayne). He is also survived by five grandchildren as well as numerous extended family, friends.
Visitation was held on Saturday, December 13th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Crowder Funeral Home Chapel in Dickinson, Texas (851 Farm to Market 517 Rd W, Dickinson, TX 77539).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to CHRISTUS Our Daily Bread, the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, or the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation.
