He was predeceased by : his parents, Ross Calvin Mayfield and Hester Mary Mayfield (Harrison); his brother Andrew Mayfield; his grandson Zachary Juelich; and also John Kasey Barkmann.

He is survived by : his wife Betty Jones Mayfield; his daughters, Kimberly Hoskinson, Terry Juelich (Robert) and Lisa Borm (Gregory); his grandchildren, Amy Vance (Bryan), Matthew Hoskinson, Christopher Juelich, Amanda Juelich Erickson (Andrew), Taylor Borm (Rebekah) and Megan Borm (Michael); his great grandchildren, Lucas Vance, Camille Vance, Summer Erickson, Robert Erickson, Harper Borm and Bradley Borm; and his sister-in-law Linda Mayfield Bright.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made to Shrine of the True Cross Catholic Church in Dickison or Artist Boat in Galveston in support of two of his greatest passions.
