It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Darlene Carpenter Dowell in Dimmitt, Texas, who passed away on December 22, 2025, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her mothers, J. O. Carpenter and Florence Carpenter (Dutton); her husband Bryce; her son Kris Dowell; and her sisters, Kay O'Briant and Claudie Preston.

She is survived by: her daughter Melony Fant (John) of Dallas; her daughter-in-law Teri Dowell Ussery of McKinney; her grandson Michael Fant (Kristin); her children, Bryson, Emily, Madelynn of Frisco and Rebecca Yarborough (Ben); her granddaughters, Elise and Julia of Dallas; her sons, Brandon Dowell of McKinney and Brett Dowell (Sarah); her grandchildren, Lola and Jack of Roanoke; her brother-in-law Leeroy O'Briant of Lubbock; her nieces, Tina Mobley (Shannon) of Odessa and Tawna O'Briant of Lubbock; and her brother-in-law Royce Dowell of McKinney. She is also survived by other loving relatives and friends.
