He was predeceased by: his parents, Vicente Gonzalez and Josefa Rodriguez; and his brothers, Jose Luis Gonzalez and Gilberto Gonzalez. He is survived by: his wife Celia Gonzalez; his son Eliazar Cantu (Marisol); his siblings, Noe Gonzalez, Juanita Gonzalez and Elizabeth Vasquez; and his grandchildren, Jose Fuentes Carreon, Brittney Cantu, Jesus Cantu, Berenice Cantu and Ruby Cantu.

Viewing will be held on Monday, October 5th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Salinas Funeral Home of Weslaco - Chapel Of (2929 W Expy 83, Weslaco, TX 78599). A rosary will be held on Monday, October 5th 2026 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the same location. A Mass will be held on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the St. Joseph Catholic Church (306 S Salinas Blvd, Donna, TX 78537).
