He was predeceased by: his parents, Guadalupe Mendiola and Teresa Mendiola. He is survived by: his wife Circumsicion Mendiola; his daughters, Elizabeth Mendiola and Diana Alvarado (Juan); his grandchildren, Juan Daniel, Larisa Andrea and Julian Alvarado; and his great grandchildren, Diego Benjamin Maldonado and Daniel Alexander Alvarado.

A funeral service was held on Thursday, August 27th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Memorial Funeral Home Chapel (311 E Expressway 83, San Juan, TX 78589). A burial was held on Thursday, August 27th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Val Verde Memorial Gardens (6200 N Val Verde Rd, Donna, TX 78537).
