We are sad to announce that on January 15, 2023, at the age of 93, George Herbert Mitchell of Dumas, Texas, born in Abingdon, Illinois passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Violet Mitchell (Thurman) and Gee Mitchell; his sister Norma Van Liew; his children-in-law, Benny Barton and Janet Mitchell; and his great grandchildren, Diana Barton and Olivia Boxley.

He is survived by : his wife Fern Mitchell (Knox); his brother-in-law Warren Van Liew; and his children, Steven Mitchell of Dumas, Sandra McSpadden (John) of Dumas, Cathy Barton of Bastrop, TX and Stacy Mitchell of Dumas.
