It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Howard Hunter of Dumas, Texas, born in Springer, New Mexico, who passed away on March 28, 2023, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, John H. Hunter and Edith Odessa Hunter (Chrissman); his former life partner Doris Nell; his sisters, Stella Bippes and Marie Wilkins; and his brother-in-law John Meisenbach.
He is survived by : his wife Betty Hepler Brown; his children, Howard Scott Hunter (Carla) of Guymon, OK, David Vernon Hunter (Frances) of Sand Springs, OK, Gina Renee Gray (Gary) of Eastland, TX, Kristi D'Aun McNair (James) of Lago Vista, TX and Lauri D'Neene Rousseau (Bill) of Tolar, TX; and his sister Evelyn Meisenbach of Tampa, FL. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
