He was predeceased by: his parents, Valdimar Ortiz and Rosa Ortiz (Badillo); and his brothers, Rudolfo and Reynaldo Ortiz. He is survived by: his wife Nati Ortiz; his children, Jessica Salcido of Dumas, TX, Joe "David" Ortiz Jr. of Dumas, TX, Teresa Correa of Dumas, TX, Isaiah Ortiz of Dumas, TX and Melissa Cano (Victor) of Clovis, NM; and his grandchildren, Destynea Martinez, Jacob Pinales, Olivia Pinales, Joey Escamilla, Emily Pinales, Jazmin Pinales, Gyzelle Cano, Natalia Ortiz, Alyssa Ortiz and Izabella Ortiz. He is also survived by numerous brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and other extended family.
