He was predeceased by: his parents, Bud Kerns and Nelda Kerns. He is survived by: his significant other Sheila Sosebee; his children, Dusty Kerns (Laurie) and Shawna DeLord (Kevin); his stepdaughter Jennifer Watters (Rusty, family: Brenna Jones, Shane LaRue); and his grandchildren, Gavin, Dax Bustamante, Maisie Nichols, Peyton Watters, Karrissa Rice, Kate Jones, Kasandra Jones, Brett Rice, Isac Adams and Lila Kerns.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Calvary Baptist Church (1315 Zauk Ave, Dumas, TX 79029).
