He was predeceased by : his parents, Frank Sandlin and Ruby Sandlin; his siblings, Paul Douglas Sandlin, Vincent Sandlin and Camellia Wheeler; and his son-in-law Jay Metz.

He is survived by : his wife Mary Sandlin; his brother-in-law Doyle Wheeler; his daughters, Katrina Montoya, Kristi Metz, Kobi Campbell (Lance Campbell) and Melissa Winters (Tom Winters); and his grandchildren, Brittany Campbell, Grace Campbell-Grigsby (Corey Grigsby), Elizabeth Montoya and Nate Campbell.
