He was predeceased by: his parents, Lorena Long and V. A. Long; his siblings, Donald Long (Bobbie), Dorothy Ann Sprinkle (Doyle) and Mary Jane Scharnberg; his daughter-in-law Debbie Cupples; and his son Mark David Long (Donella Taylor Long).
He is survived by: his sons, Phillip Blaine Long (Patricia Caudill) and William Dean Long (Mhina); his stepdaughter Melissa Eggar; his brother Leon Dupree Long (Neva); his brother-in-law Joe Scharnberg; and his daughters-in-law, Rhonda Greer Long and Kyla Branshaw Long Bain. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, May 18th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Heartland Funeral Home (303 Early Blvd, Early, TX 76802). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 19th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the same location.
