He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Becktold and Dorothy Becktold; and his brother-in-law Joe Green (Julie "Daughter Dear" Smith). He is survived by: his wife Patricia Ann Clark; his sons, Michael of Carrollton and David of Early; his siblings, Suzann Nira (Arnulfo) of Early, Margaret Green of Zephyr, Oleta McClain (Ray) of Early and Duane Becktold (Augustine) of Early; his brother-in-law Bobby Clark (Judy) of Bangs; and his nephew James Ray Clark of Abilene. He is also survived by 13 nieces and nephews, 16 great nieces and nephews.
