He was predeceased by: his parents, Genaro "Jerry" Rivera and Isabel Gamez Rivera; his son Jesus "Jesse" Rivera; his siblings, Mario Rivera and Rosa M. Salinas; and his brothers-in-law, Noe Trevino, Antonio Rojas and Augustin Salinas.
He is survived by: his wife San Juanita "Janie" Rivera; his sons, E. J. Rivera (Jessica) and Bobby Rivera; his grandchildren, Justice Rivera, Jesse Rivera, Brayden Rivera, Bradley Rivera and Mia Rivera; his siblings, Elijio Rivera (Maria Isabel), Celia Trevino, Mina Rojas and Leticia Mendez (Juan Enrique); and his sister-in-law Tina Rivera. He is also survived by his family, colleagues, friends.
Viewing will be held on Tuesday, October 7th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home (322 E Kuhn St, Edinburg, TX 78541). A rosary will be held on Tuesday, October 7th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, October 8th 2025 at 12:30 PM at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church (501 E Kuhn St, Edinburg, TX 78541). A burial will be held on Wednesday, October 8th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery South Inspiration (2520 Inspiration Rd, Mission, TX 78572).
