He was predeceased by: his parents, Irdean Lowell Gaskin and Ruth Stovall Gaskin; his son Desmond Gaskin; and his siblings, Lola Russell, Archie Gaskin, Irdean Gaskin, Jr. and Lowell Gaskin.
He is survived by: his wife Alfreeda Edwards Gaskin; his children, Douglas Gaskin (Leigh), Deirdra Gaskin and Dana Gaskin; and his sister Mildred Young. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
