He was predeceased by: his father Ignacio G. Hernandez, Sr.; his sister Velma Ann Trevino; and his nephews, Isaac Andre Ybarra and Tony Zamora. He is survived by: his mother Lois Guevara Hernandez; his children, Brianna Hernandez (Roland Arredondo) and Richard Hernandez, Jr.; his siblings, Enora Hernandez, Gloria Hernandez, Sylvia Barefield (Eugene), Michelle Reyes (Salvador), Raymond Hernandez (Soila), Ignacio G. Hernandez, Jr. and Miguel Hernandez; and his granddaughters, Estella Rose Arredondo and Vada Joe Arredondo. He is also survived by numerous nieces & nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions towards funeral expenses.
