He was predeceased by: his parents, Emil G. Petersen and Lena Hoelscher Petersen; and his siblings, Dorothy Prater, Velma Engstrom and James Petersen.
He is survived by: his children, Neal Petersen and Brenda Thane (Michael); his sister Patsy Mauch; his grandson Tim Maxwell (Crystal); and his great grandchild Anya Maxwell. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews cousins and other family members and friends.
