With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James Michael Appling Sr. of El Campo, Texas, who passed away on June 11, 2021 at the age of 75. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, George Appling and Louella Priesmeyer Appling. He is survived by: his wife Dianne; his children, Mike Jr. (Leslie), George (Brian), Todd Respondek (Holly) and Lisa Holt; his grandchildren, Claire, Luke, Arya, Gareth, Gaia, Michaela, Riley and Augustus; his siblings, John Paul Appling (Jayne Gaye) and Nancy Kennedy; his stepdaughter Kelly Appling; his stepgrandchild Maddy; and his brother-in-law Roy Redwine. He is also survived by cousins, nephews and nieces.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Phillips Catholic School (302 W. Church St., El Campo), Christ Lutheran Church (1401 Ave I, El Campo) or Houston Hospice - El Campo (1102 N Mechanic, El Campo).
