She was predeceased by: her parents, Arthuro Gutierrez and Maria Gutierrez; and her siblings, Celia Alamaguer, Sabina Gutierrez, Simona Almeda, Isabell Ibarra, Servando Gutierrez, Severanio Gutierrez and Celesteino Gutierrez.
She is survived by: her husband Jose Herrera of El Campo; her sons, William Ortiz Jr. of Richmond and Clint Ortiz of Forth Worth; her grandchildren, Jasmine Ortiz, Jennifer Ortiz, William Ortiz III, Chancey Ortiz of Richmond, Elizabeth Ortiz, Andres Ortiz and Danielle Ortiz of Fort Worth; and her siblings, Sara Sanchez, Lupe Gonzales, Juanita Vallejo of El Campo and Seferino Gutierrez of Houston. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
