He was predeceased by: his parents, Temple "TJ" Cherry and Etta Mae Kidd; his wife Frances Cherry; his son Richard Cherry; his daughter-in-law A. J. Cherry; his son Michael Craig Cherry; and his siblings, Glyndon Cherry, Lynn Cherry, Eva Jean Crisler and Rose Lanell Gordon.
He is survived by: his children, Clay Cherry (Diane), Melanie Jones (David) and Maryetta Cherry (Joann). He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren, and numerous great-great-grandchildren.
