She was predeceased by: her parents, Bertha Aguirre and Alfonso Aguirre; her sister Mary Louise Cabral; and her cousin Yvonne Ochoterena. She is survived by: her husband Michael Simpson; her brother-in-law Noni Mendoza; her sibling's children, Cari Meggyesy, Jana Simpson (Rodney Phillips) and Eric Simpson (Amy Simpson); her grandchildren, Malia Meggyesy (Keith Thompson), Kennedy, Elizabeth Meggyesy, Danielle Phillips, Maya, Owen Simpson, Michael and Abigail Thompson; and also Margarita Mendoza. She is also survived by nieces, nephews.
She retired at age 80 due to the COVID pandemic.
