He is survived by: his wife Katie McMurtrey of El Paso, TX; his children, Helen Babino of El Paso, TX, Katherine House (James) of San Jose, CA and Hosea McMurtrey, Jr. (Barrelia) of Converse, TX; his grandchildren, Gerri Stover (Stephon) of Arden, NC, Amanda Babino of Rhinelander, WI, Pamela Babino of Shawano, WI, Jazyme Brown of Converse, TX, Timothy Brown of Converse, TX and Tkai McMurtrey of Converse, TX; and his sisters, Nina Taylor of Memphis, TN and Gloria McMurtry of Portland, OR..
A funeral service was held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 from 10:30 AM to 11:45 AM at the Sunset Funeral Homes - Northeast (4631 Hondo Pass Dr, El Paso, TX 79904). A prayer was held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 from 11:45 AM to 1:45 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 from 2:30 PM to 3:00 PM at the Fort Bliss National Cemetery (5200 Fred Wilson Ave, El Paso, TX 79906).
