He was predeceased by: his parents, Aureliano and Dolores; his siblings, Salvador, Aureliano, Roberto, Ana Maria and Velia; his son Jose Arturo; and his nephew Jon Stenstad Briones.

He is survived by: his wife Lola; and his children, Silvia Oralia, Ana Maria, Jorge Luis, Roberto Arturo and Chacha. He is also survived by spouses, 20 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.
