She is survived by: her sister-in-law Jody Polk Schwartz; her nieces and nephews, Laurie S. Smith (Bobby), Jonathan D. Schwartz III (Tracy), James P. Schwartz (Joy), Max Prestridge (Irma), Sharon Thompson (JD) and Sandra McKinney; her children, Ruth Hoover Sprout, Samuel Doak Hoover (Carrie) and David Livesay Hoover (Tami); and her children-in-law, Karen Slaughter Hoover and William Thad Miller. She is also survived by 11 great-nieces and nephews, 12 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren.
