She was predeceased by: her parents, Francis McMurray and Caroline Antony McMurray; and her siblings, Bernard, Francis, Frederick, Frances, Blanche, Isabel and Patricia.

She is survived by: her husband Kenneth Strong Nelson; her sons, Kenneth Frank and Thomas Alan Nelson; and her grandchildren, Jennifer, Karen, Garrett and Carlye. She is also survived by nine great grandchildren.
