We announce the death of Damon Gail Jackson of Elgin, Texas, who passed away on July 24, 2026, at the age of 87. Damon will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Boyd Sidney Jackson and May Bell Crawford Jackson; his brother Talmon Dale Jackson; and his grandson Richard Breaux, Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Joyce Elaine Pearson Jackson; his children, Damon Jeffrey Jackson, Nora Jackson Montoya, Kathleen Jackson, Carl Riley Jackson, Sr., James William Jackson and Sidney Lamoine Jackson; his stepchildren, Darryl Decker, Melonie Decker Acosta, Robert Croker, Jr., Lynn Croker, Sheryl Croker and James Louis Croker; his grandchildren, Jeremiah Jackson, Emily Jackson, Joshua Jackson, Elisabeth Jackson, Heather Simon Garcia, Holly Simon Witt, Heath Simon, Derek Hanks, Carl Riley Jackson II, Christopher Jackson, Charles Jackson and James Damon Jackson; his stepchildren, Tyler Decker, Jerry Roberts, Dana Roberts, Andrea Acosta, Chance Rivas, Bart Croker, Shaun Croker, Kimberly Croker Gilstrap, Amanda Croker Brown, Jessica Croker Williams, Stefanie Cloud, Jason Durham, Tyler Farris, Kelly Farris Carver, Steven Farris, Brandi Breaux, Stephanie Breaux, Travis Breaux, Mandy Morgan, Daniel Croker, Christina Croker Garrett and Laura Croker Polk; and his nieces and nephews, Nita Gail Jackson-Allen, Sharon Jackson, Stephen Jackson and Scott Jackson. He is also survived by many great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.

In Lieu of flowers, a donation to St. Jude may be made in Mr. Jackson's name, as Mr. Jackson has relatives receiving care from St. Jude.
