It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Manuel T. Alcala Sr. of Elgin, Texas, who passed away on May 18, 2026, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Jose Barrera Alcala and Juana Torres Alcala; and his siblings, Sandy Bandera, Elvira Romo, Florentino Alcala, Julia De La Cruz, Linda Celedon, Paul Alcala and Johnny Alcala.
He is survived by: his wife Juanita "Janie" G. Alcala; his children, Rita Alcala (Jesus), Christina Castillo (Fernando), Eve Flores (Joe), Adam Alcala (Erica) and Manuel T. Alcala, Jr. (Ashley); his foster sons, Manuel Garcia and Mariano Garcia; his brothers, Jose Alcala and Daniel Alcala; his grandson Angel Torres, Sr. (Serving); his great grandchildren, Jacob Torres and Ivan Torres; his grandsons, Eric Ruiz and Ted Ray Nanez; his nephew Frankie Hidrogo; his grandchildren, Joseph Flores, Adam Alcala and Tina Marie Torres; his great grandchildren, Angel Torres Jr. and Camila Ann Torres; and his caregiver Rolli. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.
