With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Mary Laurel Hendrix of Elgin, Texas, who passed away on July 12, 2025 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, James Laurel Gray and Zona Mae Ellis Gray; her brother Mike Gray; and her daughter-in-law Debbie Herwig-Hendrix. She is survived by: her children, Holly Hendrix, Johnny "Love" Hendrix and Barney Hendrix (Deborah); her sister Jean; her sibling's children, Sandi Castro and Vincent "Bubba" Ferrer; her great-niece Jordan; her great-nephew Anthony Castro; her granddaughter Erica Hendrix; her great grandchild Kevin Hendrix; and her pet Rowdy. She is also survived by many other family members and friends.
Visitation was held on Sunday, July 20th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Elgin Funeral Home (712 N Avenue C, Elgin, TX 78621). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, July 22nd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
