He was predeceased by: his parents, Lambert Peterson and Edith Peterson of Elgin, Texas.; his wife Jeanette Mogonye Peterson of Peter's Lutheran Church; his brothers, Donald Peterson and Gary Peterson; his siblings-in-law, Glen Matetzschk, David Mogonye, Jan Mogonye, Dorothy "Dottie" Peterson Nitkin and Sandra Peterson; and his nephew Scott Mogonye.
He is survived by: his children, Terry Peterson (JoAnn), Paula Urbanovsky and Dawn Treichel (DJ); his grandchildren, Doug Spaw (Vanessa), Stephen Peterson, Meghan Caskey (Corey), Malorie Pace (Heath), Tyler Laake, Britten Tedford (Phillip) and Hunter Tedford (Phoenix); his great grandchildren, Callaway Spaw, Layla Spaw, Weston Pace, Landon Pace, Madison Sims (Carter), Makenzie Pace (Colton), Megan Sims (Clayton), Cade Caskey and Miles Caskey; his great great grandchildren, Grayson and Addison Sims; and his sister Shirlene Matetzschk.
Visitation was held on Thursday, November 20th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the Elgin Funeral Home (712 N Avenue C, Elgin, TX 78621). A celebration of life was held on Thursday, November 20th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, November 20th 2025 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM.
