We announce the death of Aurora Mendoza (Elsa, Texas), who passed away on October 11, 2026, at the age of 97. Aurora will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Aurora will be remembered for the impact she had on the lives of those around her. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. Those who knew Aurora will remember moments of kindness, warmth, and presence. Though words cannot fully capture her life, the legacy of connections and experiences remains. Aurora’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued her companionship.
She was predeceased by: her husband Ignacio Mendoza; her parents, Aurelio Saavedra and Nicolasa Valadez; and her siblings, Francisco Saavedra, Antonio Saavedra and Josefina Cardenas.
She is survived by: her children, Jose Mendoza, Raul Mendoza, Rodrigo Mendoza and Juliana Mendoza De Mata. She is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and numerous family and friends.
Viewing will be held on Wednesday, October 14th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Salinas Funeral Home- Chapel Of (304 E Edinburg Ave, Elsa, TX 78543). A prayer will be held on Wednesday, October 14th 2026 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 15th 2026 from 9:30 AM to 10:15 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Thursday, October 15th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Heavenly Grace Memorial Park (26873 White Ranch Rd, La Feria, TX 78559).
