He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence B. Johnston and Vera Mae Johnston (Fletcher); his brothers, Jimmy and Billy Johnston; his nephew Jerry Johnston; and his former wife Lynda Carol Witt.
He is survived by: his wife Novis Johnston; his daughter Kristen Sanger; his son-in-law Ladd; his son Kevin Johnston; his daughter-in-law Shanna; his nephews, Jody Johnston, Blake Johnston and Kyle Johnston; and his niece Melinda Folse.
