Joy leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Joy’s life was marked by connections and experiences that touched those around her. Though she is no longer with us, the moments shared, the laughter, and the support she offered will continue to resonate. All who knew Joy will carry forward her memory in their hearts.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Ammar Kirby and Jewell Young; and her husband John R. Byers. She is survived by: her brother Vaden Kirby of Dimmitt; and her children, Kala, Tommy McNeill of Euless, Texas, Pam Byers of Euless, Texas, Johnny and Carol Byers of Cloudcroft. She is also survived by six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, extended family members, and many dear friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 18th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home & Memorial Park (5725 Colleyville Blvd, Colleyville, TX 76034, USA). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Cross City Church (1000 W Airport Fwy, Euless, TX 76039).
