Curtis Byrd Sr. Obituary
We announce the death of Curtis Byrd Sr. of Fairfield, Texas, who passed away on August 16, 2026, at the age of 73. Curtis will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Curtis Byrd and Teresa Hebert-Wilson (Dear Dear); his grandparents, Gabe (Big Poppa) and Lorena Hebert (Big Momma); his children, Micah Byrd and Catherine Rebecka; and his brother James Byrd.
He is survived by: his wife Sherry Ann Byrd (Brackens) of Fairfield; his children, Curtis Byrd Jr. (Susana), Bara Steward (Roy), Leah Byrd, Miriam McAlpine (Aaron), Sarah Byrd, Ornan Byrd (Carrie) and Cephas Byrd (Kristin); his son-in-law Kelvin Gilmore Sr.; his brothers, Lloyd Wilson (Mae), Roy Wilson and Richard Wilson; his sister-in-law Patricia Byrd; his mother-in-law Laverne Brackens; Willy Elbert (W. E.). He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins, in- laws, and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 4th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses (1518 N Buffalo Ave, Buffalo, TX 75831).
