He is survived by: his wife Nancy Whitwell; his children, Macy Whitwell Collins, Mandi Whitwell and Chris Whitwell (Gina); and his great grandchildren, Cynthia Morris, Roman Cantu, Ryan Whitwell, Dallas Porter, Za'Maya Porter, Derrick Porter Jr., Shaniya Hodge and Lillianna Cantu.
