He is survived by: his wife Mary Catherine (Merikay); his sister-in-law Sydney Timmins Coder of Urbandale; and his nieces, Rebecca Fitzgerald Lipscomb of Birmingham, Melissa Coder Dobbins (Eric Dobbins) of Cedar Rapids and Laura Coder Olsen (Buck Olsen) of Johnston.
