He is survived by: his wife Tammie Shields; his sons, Justin Shields (Azia) and Tyler Shields (Jessica Bowler); his grandchildren, Leia, Liam and Logan Shields; and his siblings, Randy Shields, Carrie Briggs and Ramona Vaughan. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
